Lies shatter. REAL matters.

Prove mine is REAL See if theirs is

Anyone can fake it. Prove you're REAL.

Fake photos, cloned voices, impersonated accounts — gone from rare to routine. You can’t stop people from faking things. But you can prove what’s actually real. AARA analyzes your photo, voice, video, or document and hands you proof of authenticity you can hold, share, and point to. When it matters that it’s really you — really your work, really your moment — you’ve got the receipt.

Same review either way — one ends in a badge you publish, the other in a record you keep. The difference

How it works

Four steps. No account required.

Submit

Choose a package and upload the file you want reviewed. Tell us what specifically made you question it.

Analyze

Your file runs through a multi-detector forensic arsenal — AI-generation signals, manipulation artifacts, metadata, and provenance.

Score

Fixed rules in code compute the result. The AI writes the explanation; it never decides the outcome.

Report

You receive a PDF with the finding, the reasoning in plain English, and a verification badge you can share.

Two reasons to ask. One review.

Protecting your own name, or checking something in front of you. The analysis is identical. What you do with the result is not.

Prove mine is REAL

You own the content and your name is on it. The review gives you a dated, independent record, and a REAL Check you can publish — on a listing, a portfolio, a profile, a submission — that anyone can verify against the registry without taking your word for it. This is the badge. It is meant to be shown.

See if theirs is

Someone else’s photo, message, recording, or document, and you need to know before you act. The review gives you the same record and the same evidence, but you are usually not publishing anything. It stays private to you, for your own decision. Nothing is posted, and the person whose content you submitted is not notified.

You choose whether a result is ever public. Every completed review issues a REAL Check, and a REAL Check is only verifiable by someone you hand the code to. We never publish a customer result, and the registry itself is not browsable — it answers one code at a time.

Where each one is used

What we will and won't tell you

We never certify anything as “authentic.” No screening tool honestly can. Here is every result you can receive, and exactly what each one means.

Because absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. A clean result means we found no indicators — it is not a guarantee. We would rather hand you an honest limit than a comfortable number.

“Why can’t I just ask an AI?”

You can. People do it every day. Here is exactly what you get when you do, and what you do not.

720 programs. 22 independent detection checks.
All Around is a 720-program system: specialized forensic software working together in our own proprietary collaboration, with 22 independent detection checks across photo, voice, video and text. A single AI is one opinion.
You ask a chatbot
It looks at your image and reasons about it, the way a person would — noticing hands, lighting, texture. That is observation, not measurement. It has no forensic detector running underneath.
REAL runs purpose-trained detectors built for one job: finding the statistical residue generative models leave in pixels, waveforms, and text. Several of them, independently, on the same file.
You ask it twice
You get two different answers. Language models are probabilistic by design — rephrase the question and the verdict can flip.
The score is computed by fixed rules in code. The same evidence returns the same result today, next week, and when someone challenges it. Reproducibility is not a nicety in forensics; it is the point.
You tell it what you are hoping for
It accommodates you. Chat models are trained to be agreeable, and the way you frame the question shapes the answer you get back.
Rules do not care what you were hoping for. And we will not say “authentic” even when you want us to — that verdict does not exist here.
The evidence is too poor to judge
It answers anyway. A chatbot will rarely tell you it cannot tell — it produces something confident-sounding from whatever it has.
Unable to evaluate is a real, first-class result here. If the face is never clearly visible, if the audio is too processed, you are told that plainly instead of handed a manufactured number.
Someone disputes you
You have a chat log. You ran it, you wrote the prompt, and you are quoting yourself. It persuades no one who does not already believe you.
You have an independent review by a separate party, with a case number, a timestamp, a fingerprint of the exact file, and a registry record the other person can check without taking your word for anything.
You upload private evidence
It goes to a general-purpose model, under whatever data terms that provider happens to run this quarter.
Your files are processed in an isolated environment and are never used to train or refine external generative models. Evidence is retained only as long as processing and support require, then deleted.
You want to show it to someone
You screenshot the conversation.
You get a REAL Check — a shareable mark carrying the result, the date, the case number, and a code anyone can verify in seconds.
The honest version: a general AI can give you an opinion. It cannot give you a record. If you only want a hunch about a photo, ask a chatbot — it is free and it is often interesting. If the answer has to hold up in front of someone who does not trust you, an opinion is not what you need.

An AI can tell you what it thinks.
It cannot hand you proof.

Not one opinion. Dozens of specialists.

A chat model is a single generalist answering from one perspective. This is the other approach.

473
pinned software components
38
distinct forensic tools
4
media types, each with its own detectors

Metadata analysis. Signal complexity. Vocal stress. Frequency artifacts. Source consistency. Structural irregularity. File integrity. Text provenance. Each is a narrow specialist doing one job properly, rather than one model doing everything approximately.

They disagree — and you see it

Independent detectors reach independent conclusions. When they conflict, that conflict is reported rather than averaged into a tidy number. A confident answer built on a split panel is a lie of omission.

Every version is locked

A chat model changes underneath you without notice; the same question can return a different answer next month. Every component here is pinned to a specific version, so a review can be run again and reach the same result. That is what makes it evidence rather than a chat.

This is the part that cannot be prompted into existence. It is not a clever question asked of a general model — it is a purpose-built stack, assembled and calibrated over months, and it runs the same way on every submission.

You cannot ask your way to this.
It had to be built.

The evidence itself can be the attack

This is the part of “just ask an AI” that almost nobody thinks about.

A document, screenshot, contract, or PDF can carry instructions you cannot see. Text set in white on white. Characters with no width at all. Wording baked into the picture rather than the text underneath it.

Those instructions are not aimed at you. They are aimed at whatever machine reads the file.

Paste that file into a chat model and you may not be getting an answer about your evidence. You may be getting the answer somebody else wrote into it — and it will read as confident and reasonable, because that is what it was built to do.

Screened before analysis

Every submission passes through intake safety checks before any review begins. Nothing is handed to a language model unexamined.

Text you cannot see

We look for concealed characters and hidden wording planted to steer an automated reader.

Text inside pictures

Wording carried in the image rather than the document is pulled out and checked too, not skipped.

If we find something, it goes in your report. A file carrying hidden instructions is itself a finding — often the most important one, because it tells you the material was built to manipulate an automated reader rather than merely to look real.

A chatbot reads whatever you give it.
We check what you were given first.

Detection gets harder every year. A record does not.

This is the part most services will not say out loud, so we will say it first.

Every generation of synthetic media is trained against the detectors that caught the last one. That is not a flaw in anyone’s tool — it is how the technology advances. Detection is a treadmill, and everyone on it is running.

A record is not on that treadmill.

A dated, independent record of what your file was — the exact bytes, fingerprinted, examined, and logged by someone other than you — does not weaken when the fakes improve. It is a statement about a moment that already happened, and no future model can reach back and change it.

The asymmetry

As synthetic media improves, an old record becomes more valuable and a new one becomes harder to establish. The two curves move in opposite directions, and they cross.

What that means for you

The moment to establish a record is while establishing one still means something. Not when it is contested — by then the material has been forwarded, compressed, and re-saved, and the signal is gone.

We are telling you our own detection will age. It will. Every screening tool’s will. What we are also telling you is that the fingerprint, the timestamp, the case record, and the independent examination do not age — and those are the parts you will still be able to point at years from now.

Anyone can dispute an opinion.
Nobody can un-record a record.

Comparison add-ons

Available on CASE and DOSSIER. Each requires two files — the item in question and a known reference.

Voice comparison

Compares a recording in question against a known reference recording of the same person, and reports a relative similarity — never a hard match or no-match.

Voice comparison works best with normal talking. Please know its limits: an accent or impression can lower the match score even for the same person. An AI voice clone can “match” a voice while still being fake — our separate AI-detection screening covers that. Singing or heavily produced music makes results less reliable.

Consent required. Voice comparison runs only when you explicitly consent to biometric analysis of your submitted recordings for that order.

Code comparison

Compares two code or text files and reports how much material they share — for answering “was my work copied?”

Save or paste your code as a .txt file. Raw source files such as .py or .js are declined by intake; accepted document types are .pdf, .txt, .doc, .docx, and .rtf.

For professionals

Questions

The four we are asked most. The rest are answered in full.

How many tools actually run on my file?

Your submission is routed through a purpose-built stack of 38 distinct forensic tools drawn from 473 pinned software components, with separate detectors for text, images, audio, and video. They reach independent conclusions, and where they disagree the report says so. More.

Can a document manipulate the AI reading it?

Yes. Hidden text, invisible characters, and wording embedded in an image can be planted to steer an automated reader’s answer. Paste such a file into a chat model and the reply may be the one the planter intended. Every AARA submission is screened for this before analysis begins. More on this.

Why not wait until I actually need it?

Because the signal degrades. By the time something is contested it has usually been forwarded, compressed, and re-saved, and the evidence we measure has been stripped out. A record established while the original file is intact is worth far more than one attempted afterward. The full reasoning.

Can I just use ChatGPT to check if a photo is AI?

You can, and it will answer — but it is reasoning about the picture, not measuring it, and it will give you a different answer if you ask again. It also leaves you with a chat log rather than a record anyone else can check. Here is the full comparison.

How do I know if a photo is AI-generated?

AI images carry structural artifacts, statistical patterns, and metadata inconsistencies invisible to the eye. We screen a submitted image with multiple independent detectors and report what was found — high-confidence AI generation, suspicious indicators, no reliable evidence of manipulation, or insufficient signal to evaluate.

How can I prove a video is real and not a deepfake?

No service can certify a video as authentic. We analyse sampled frames for deepfake artifacts and report the finding. “No reliable evidence of manipulation” is meaningful, but it is not proof. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

How do I prove my own work is human-made?

Submit the original file. If screening finds no reliable evidence of AI generation, the report documents that finding and issues a shareable verification mark you can point to when your work is challenged.

How long does a review take?

Most reviews complete in 3 hours or less. You get an email when your case opens and another when the report is ready.
