What the check tells you

Verified — activeThe ID is registered in the AARA registry and currently active.
Registered — inactiveThe ID exists but is not currently active. A marker reported lost, replaced, or suspicious lands here.
No verification foundNothing in the registry matches. The item was never reviewed by AARA, or the ID was entered incorrectly.

The check answers one question and no more. It confirms whether an ID is real and active. It never reveals customer names, email addresses, the submitted evidence, or the contents of anyone’s report. That boundary is deliberate.

Why a marker beats a picture of a code

A printed code can be photographed and reprinted. A basic link can be copied. A programmed REAL Seal™ marker answers differently every time it is read, and the registry tracks that marker’s own history — so a copied response does not pass twice.

That is also why a physical REAL Seal™ card carries no printed QR code. A photograph of the card must not be able to stand in for the card.

Markers take several forms — card, on-metal, printed, optical, and programmed variants — chosen to suit what is being protected.
